Worship and prayer as key activity of the church are found at the center of Paul’s worldview. These are to be done with a glad heart, especially if we think about all that happened and where we now live. The practice of reading und thinking through Scripture enables the transformation of our minds in such a way as to allow us to figure out this day of new arrival. And baptism was the sign of the new covenant, of resurrection happening for those who follow Jesus.

What about the five questions:

Who are we: We are one people. We are the in-Messiah people. We are the people of the new covenant, included in God’s saving acts.

Where are we: We are in the world, part of God’s new creation. Jesus reigns in the world. God is King in our world.

What is wrong: Sin, Caesar, old humanity. People are corrupted and the world is still bent out of shape. People are in rebellion and fail to see the Messiah.

What is the solution: Prayer, the work of the spirit, resurrection, preaching Jesus as King. All of these will aid the spread of the renewing work of God and his kingdom.

What time is it: New Creation Time. We witness the overlap of the ages. God’s time has dawned on us. It is time to put his new creation into effect.

Look at this and compare it to the mindset around you. What stories, symbols, praxis, and questions do we hear around us? Even Christians seem miles away from this view of things. It might be time to take off our old glasses and refocus on what is really going on.
